Six Nights
What a retreat
actually looks like.
Not a holiday. Not a conference. A six-night facilitated safari retreat built around your profession, your peers, and the African bush.
The Format
One profession.
One cohort.
Six nights.
The retreat follows a consistent spine across every profession series. Mornings belong to the group. Afternoons belong to you. Evenings belong to the bush and the fire. The facilitation holds the container. The cohort does the work.
Day by Day
Seven days in the bush.
Day 1
Arrival
Private transfers from Hoedspruit Airport. Lodge orientation and first sundowner drive. Bush dinner under the stars. The first evening is unscheduled. You decompress. The others arrive. By midnight, you know their names.
Days 2 to 5
The Retreat
Morning game drives from 5:30am return you to the lodge for breakfast, then facilitated peer circles from 9am. Two to three hours of structured but candid dialogue. After lunch, the afternoon is yours. No agenda. Pool, bush walk, sleep. Evening game drives return for dinner and the nightly campfire council.
Day 6
Return-to-Self Session
The morning of the final full day is dedicated to what you are taking home. A facilitated session with a personal framework you complete yourself. Not goals. Not targets. A map back to the version of yourself the profession has slowly moved you away from.
Day 7
Departure
Breakfast. Transfers to the airport. Your cohort departs. Most people describe this morning as strange. They are not looking forward to leaving. That is the point.
Defining Moments
The parts that stay
with you.
The Game Drive
Two daily drives with a FGASA-qualified field guide. Dawn and dusk. Small vehicles. Big Five territory in the Greater Kruger area. No itinerary. The guide follows what the bush is offering.
The Peer Circle
A facilitated small-group format where the cohort sits together and speaks honestly. No hierarchy. No performance. The facilitator holds the space. You hold the conversation.
The Bush Dinner
Every evening meal is served outside. A clearing in the bush. A fire. A table set among the acacia trees. The same people who were strangers 48 hours ago are now in conversation you will not summarise in a Slack thread.
The Campfire Council
After dinner, the group gathers at the fire. No facilitation. No agenda. The only rule is Chatham House. What is said by the fire stays by the fire. This is where the real work happens.
The Sundowner
Every afternoon the vehicles go out at golden hour to a location chosen by the guide. The sun goes down. The drinks come out. The conversation that happened in the morning continues without walls around it.
The Afternoon
Deliberately unscheduled. Every afternoon from 1pm to 4pm is yours. This is not a mistake or an oversight. Rest is the point. The profession has not given you an afternoon in years.
You have read about it.
